Deck Decorating Ideas that Won’t Cost a Fortune
If you plan on entertaining anytime soon, you’ll want your deck to be welcoming and inviting. That doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune, as there are a number of deck decorating ideas you can use that will cost little to nothing to incorporate.
Outdoor curtains are a good way to add a splash of color while also creating some privacy. These curtains don’t have to be made from special material, as you can use the same ones you would place on inside windows, provided you wash them on a regular basis to remove dirt and grime.

Deck decorating ideas don’t have to be complicated. Use half of an old oak barrel and use as a side table.
To add additional storage area to your deck, take an old metal wash tub and then place a round table top over it. You can then store things underneath the table top, while giving your deck a somewhat vintage look to it.
Old pallets can be used to create side tables, planters or window boxes. Paint them in bright colors to match the rest of your outdoor décor, and you’ll have pieces that are both unique and functional.

Create your own luminaries out of fish bowls, mason jars or flower pots. Add some colored sand, seashells or polished stones, and then place a candle in the middle to provide light for outdoor activities.
Plant flowers inside unique containers such as old canisters, watering cans, lanterns or buckets. Use a sponge to dab on a design, or trim these containers with ribbon or beads to help spruce them up a bit.
Hang terra cotta flower pots on your deck rail, and then fill then with flowers or herbs. You could also hang an old bed frame and then plant climbing vines or roses so that they wind around it to add visual interest.
