Grilling on the Deck With a Bright Grill
A minute or so after humans discovered how to make fire, they probably learned how to grill. Since that ancient time, grilling has not changed all that much. You just combine fire and meat and make something wonderful to eat. The main arguments have been whether to use charcoal or gas and whether to use dry or wet rub on the meat, (Also how to marinate your meat).
For most grill masters, using an electric grill, like the George Foreman, is not even an option because honestly, its not proper grilling. However, a new product, called the Bright Grill, may give even the most die-hard outdoor chef some pause. The Bright Grill syncs up with a smart phone to make it the most intelligent cooking appliance ever created, according to Gizmag.
The Bright Grill can be used either indoors or outdoors for grilling on the deck. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, temperature sensors, and a CPU. It can be controlled remotely from an Android app. Otherwise, it is almost identical to a George Foreman with the two nonstick surfaces. You can control the temperature and the cooking time from the app.
The neat feature of the Bright Grill is that it can be preprogrammed with a recipe. Thus, it automatically changes temperature when needed. It will even switch to “warm” mode when the meat is considered done and send you an alert. The device does not monitor the internal temperature of the meat so that the feature might be used sparingly.
It has a feature for grilling steaks in which you can input the size of the steak and the amount of doneness you desire. This feature may allow you to be more accurate than most backyard chefs in grilling steaks.
The people who are developing the Bright Grill are now crowd funding the costs. If all goes well, the first models will be delivered March 2016.
