Roasted Hatch Green Chiles
Fall is the perfect time to roast hatch green chiles on your grill. Roasted green chiles are an incredible addition to any Mexican entree, and they freeze well, so you can roast a lot of green chiles on the grill while they are in season, and freeze them for use for the rest of the year! Hatch green chiles are available in September and the early part of October. For the best flavor, turn your grill on high, put the chiles on the grill in a single layer. Turn them as they cook so that all the sides become slightly blackened, but not burned. When your chiles are done, put them in a pot with a lid to trap the steam. The steam will soften the skin of the peppers, so it will be easier for you to peel off the blackened skin once the peppers cool. Green Chiles can vary in temperature so you should be sure and wear gloves when peeling and de-seeding the peppers.
Using your deck, as it gets colder is more convenient than you might imagine. Especially when you’re grilling up seasonal vegetable favorites. For helpful suggestions on how to clean up the deck mess of grilling, contact DeckMAX!
