Recipes for Grilling on the Deck
Labor Day weekend may have passed, the toasty days of summer have passed and now we are in the full swing of fall! but that does not mean that outdoor grilling has to be over.
It sure was a great summer for grilling on the deck, and I feel that fall will be even better. whether you’re a first time homeowner or a deck grilling aficionado, you’ve likely been doing a fair share of grilling on the deck, and having friends and family praising your cooking skills. So, even though its fall, invite a few friends and family, toss on some burgers, and sit around the porch for a evening meal.
It’s easy to get caught n the same routine, so, if after a few dozen deck BBQs you’ve gotten just a bit sick of burgers and hot dogs, here are a few creative ways to use that old grill of yours. Enjoy it before the weather turns and you’re stuck cooking on a boring old stove. (Unless you’re lucky enough to have one of those fancy headed decks, which means you need these ideas even more!)
Here are some ideas to spice up your time for Grilling on the Deck
- Grilled bison and potatoes: Never had bison? Well have I got a treat for you. First thing you have to do is, Go get some this instant! Here’s what it will take to have the best meal of your life: bison steaks, potatoes, and a side salad of your choice. Wrap potatoes in foil with holes poked in. Grill the bison in the same method as any steak, to desired temperature. I recommend seasoning with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Pineapple and vegetable kebabs: Because who says a BBQ needs meat! (If you need the protein, this makes a great side dish.) What it will take: slice up large chunks of onions, peppers, zucchini, and pineapple. Season to taste. Place mixed fruits and vegetables on wooden skewers. Grill away on low heat.
- Grilled sausage and onion pizza: You heard me right, pizza. What it will take: individual sized pizza dough, olive oil, Romano cheese, sliced sausage, and onions. Grill the sausage and onions separately. Cook dough, coated in olive oil, for one minute on each side. Fill the dough with peppers, onions, and cheese, cook for 5 more minutes, and slice!
